Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Q1. How old does my child have to be to dive?
A. We have divers from the age of 4 and up. The only thing we need is for the child to be comfortable in deep water and

Q2. Do you have to go to competitions?
A. No - but most children really enjoy the competitions! They are geared towards every level of development. They are
split up into several categories so those who are just starting out - no matter what age, will be diving against those
with similar experience. Even if you are 13 and just starting out - there is a category for you!!

Q7. Do the kids have to go off of the high boards and tower?
A. No! But again it is fun!! All divers will be encouraged to reach their potential. Coaches do realize that there is an
element of fear that goes with the sport and will encourage divers to go there, but if they are not mentally ready,
they don't have to.

Q8. How often are competitions?
A. As there are not many diving clubs in British Columbia, there are not too many competitions. Our club hosts at least 1
competition per year and we usually have 3-4 other competitions throughout the Lower Mainland/Vancouver Island. If a
diver qualifies for Nationals then they travel to the Province that is hosting the event for that year. You can see a list of
meets on the Meets page.
